on october 10 vote mixed member proportional

Why change our voting system?

voter apathy - do you really feel represented
does your vote really count
it could under a mixed member proportional system

the electoral process we use currently dates back to the 11th century
compared to NOT voting it was fair and effective

that was then
this is now
it's time for change
-
Simple math?

the last time a majority government
was elected by a majority of voters in ontario was 1937
-
in 1995 the mike harris conservatives
formed a majority government
with only 45% of ontario's entire votes
the current system afforded them
66% of the elected seats at queens park
that same election
the opposition got 55% of the actual votes cast
but only 34% of the seats
that doesn't add up
-
in 1990 the NDP formed a majority government
with 38% of the votes
in 2003 the liberals formed a majority government
with 46% of the votes
-
enabling a government that is not accountable
to the majority of voters
-
a mixed member proportional system
ensures fairer representation
every vote counts
-
on october 10th
you will have the opportunity to cast a vote that will truly matter
vote for the alternative
vote for a mixed member proportional system
