highway of heros ride to support canadian troops

you have to start this sort of thing

far too early in the morning

especially if you were out real late

celebrating university degrees and that sort of thing

nonetheless

i have stood on a couple bridges

to honour dead soldiers

and give respect to their families

as they pass below

today was an opportunity to send a message

to the living

to the soldiers who continue to fight as proud canadians

today was an opportunity

to let them know we support them

and i like that idea

so bed at 345 am - rolling thunder at 7 am

first you hook up with your local crew

then we headed to the shwa

to hook up with the oshawa CMC chapter

and then

you ride in formation to trenton

to hook up with all sorts of clubs

the good, the bad, the ugly, the benign

and all sorts of unaffiliated riders

over 120 riders in all for this first annual event

i tried to take a couple pictures of the columns of bikes that stretched out in front and behind me - while i was riding - got a couple nice shots of my shoulder and some super blurry shots of the riders in front of me

coming through bowmanville we were two abreast from liberty street beyond waverly approaching holt road

we absolutely dominated the highway of heroes - trenton to whitby
