bowmanville applefest? peoplefest? picklefest?

street shopping at applefest
pictured above
looks on as customers cuss in amazement
-
nice weather
filled the streets
and the people
they came
from far and wide
or something like that

check out the video below

i think the fritter folks set a new record

for biggest ever applefest line up ever

apple fritters are fine
but frankly frittering away time in a line up
just isn't sweet jimmy's style
so we went
to where there were no lines to wait in
and got this
chocolate and sprinkle dipped pickle on a stick thing
from happy treats
pictured in the background below

actually

there were lots of vendors who didn't have savage line ups

happy treats was selling big dill pickles on a stick

being a funny sort of guy - i offered emily one

she didn't want it of course

i mean really - who sells a pickle on a stick

but then

the creepy nice happy treat dude

offered to dip it in chocolate and roll it in sprinkles

suddenly

she didn't want anything else

if you've never had one

maybe you should

it was tastier than we expected
sweet jimmy swinghammer says:
a little chocolate
on yer pickle
isn't a bad thing

oh
there were apples too

all sorts of apples
and all kinds of apples

a festival of forbidden fruit

with a lot of church groups turning a profit

pimping pommes de sin

even stuff you couldn't eat

made outta apples some kids and a bunch of old ladies

who call themselves the ganaraska cloggers

pushed everyone out of the way

and danced

a little in your face victory dance

and that gurl from the orono fair

still hasn't washed her face

therewas a bit of a midway

with a ferris wheel and some suckass rides and games

but emska polska

had this thing for the tsunami slide

over and over and over

and then when we were out of tickets

we couldn't quite reach her where she hit bottom

and she'd sneak through this opening

back onto the climb up part and away she'd go again

again and again and again

no charge

that's more like jimmy's style
