this is why

some people spend a lot of time on their blogs writing consumed cogent opinions about a lot of current eventsy type shit - it seems clever to me and i feel somewhat marginalized because my blog is all rather superflous and fluffy in contrast

why don't i do this i ask myself - after all i do hold an opinion of me as somewhat informed and intelligent

so i get to thinking some about what's happening in the world, what the media is feeding us, what we do with our time and why

a picture soon emerges of a self absorbed running to stand still short sighted caffeine fuelled fast food big box reality tv based mass marketed consumer culture

we are self-soothers all hopped up on distraction

ripped to the teats on apathy and perceived helplessness – growing it in our own homes in front of the TV

on many different levels we are entirely disaffected distracted and ineffective
they are winning

they - can you believe i said that

hoo hoo sweetpants - make no mistake - they is you

there is no they – it’s all we – they only exist in principle because there’s too much I - we are powerful - I is weak

control is in the "we" structures – government, corporations, media, organized crime, terrorists, the church

they all speak the same language - money - and WE are buying

lost somewhere is that charming American catch phrase “we the people” that democracy is supposed to empower - democracy is now a cash crop - you can buy some democracy anytime you want

the idealism that was behind the madness has been devoured by the process – there is no pure perspective on the street anymore – mean hearted mainstream pimps high on money,greed and dysfunction are adding too much baby laxative to the mix and using untrustworthy junkie whores to sell the shit to us in our own homes

yes i'm talking about government, corporate giants, media manipulation and what remains of our point of view

sit down here with sweet jimmy we'll turn on the TV and cut up a big fat line of dollar driven misinformation - snort some of what the kids are calling perspective these days - then we'll sit back – turn on our mp3 players - take a deep breath and feel our will dissolve into a puddle of entropy

this is why

this is why i don’t swim in this river often
it smells
the water is murky
it runs thick with the blood of neglect and ignorance
it's swift current sweeps away genocide, starvation, and all manner of injustice
be careful
the banks are muddy and if you get too close
you might slip in and lose what's left of your security

this self soothing lifestyle
should be unforgivable in the eyes of any god

we are all going to hell...now nevermind damnit and pass me the remote - there must be something else on
