comments:

it's quaint, it's country-esque small town. i had the peameal cooked in beer and maple syrup. i fell in love. God-damn God-damn that was good pig, tender-n-sweet just how jimmy likes his pink meat - a religious experience - generous portion with side of squash, steamed green beans, roast potatoes and a home made tea biscuit. STEAMERS is licensed but i chose an olde fashioned float to give my poor liver a break - stewarts key lime soda with vanilla ice cream...good like good should be - got my ass kicked at snakes and ladders...STEAMERS has a number of different old school games built right into the table tops, just ask and they'll bring you the dice and playing pieces - all in all...i really like this place

suggestions:

keep the old-timey country music, let some rosemary dance with those garlic roasted potatoes for an orgy of yum, service staff need a side order of personality

interesting facts:

when i was in highschool this place was called the GREENLEAF and they used to sell beer out the back door to minors...now they sell ice cream out the side window in the summer - we call it the "crack window" cause you see people lined up there all the time like dope fiends waiting to get a hit of kawartha ice

check back now and then for more dining reviews
local and not so local
you can always count on sweet jimmy swinghammer
